Harald Hafner (Marketing)
has served the hospitality and tourism industry for more than 40 years. Starting out in operations, I soon focused on marketing. At Hilton International, my career took me from a sales representativ to an area director of marketing. After 4 years as a managing director and marketing expert in destination management, I started my own marketing consultancy „hotmama“ (hospitality & tourism marketing management) in 1992.
Working with people is one of my passions and this is why I have chosen to work in the hospitality industry.
I started out as a lecturer for marketing in 1990. More than 1.500 students made it to graduation and quite a number found a job in marketing. I hold the following certifications:

LENA (constructivistic learning) diploma
Presently I am engaged in a Master Program at Georgia-Tech University on education technology. Lecturing at ITM is special and exciting due to internation audience, allowing me to learn from various cultures and backgrounds.

More than 15 years working experience in finance and controlling departments at international companies.
From 2011 to 2018 responsible as Chief Financial Officer for the German Group ACO in the regions East Europe and China.
Since 2018 lecturer at the tourism school Vienna 21 and the ITM college in Bad Vöslau.
Why hospitality / enjoy being a teacher:
Hospitality will remain as one of most important future markets. But for me hospitality training also means working on an individual attitude.
As a teacher you have the privilege to see this visible changes of your students and to contribute shaping the next generation.
Nowadays Applied IT is essential for managing our daily challenges in an efficient way.
As a lecturer for Applied IT I am happy that I can introduce essential IT tools to our students for both – their professional success and their private life.
