Excursions
Apart from the 2 excursions per year included in the curriculum, the institute also organises extra curricular activities to acquaint our students with Austria.
Various places in and around Bad Vöslau are worth seeing: the imperial Thermalbad, Europe's most state-of-the-art race track - MAGNA RACINO, Congress/Casino Baden, hotels and many more.
ITM also assists students to organise leisure activities on the weekends and on public holidays such as hiking tours, excursions and various sport programs. These activities will be announced through the leisure activity calendar on the info boards.
The extra curricular activities are optional and any costs occurring are to be paid by the students themselves (e.g. bus fares, entrance fees, etc.).
In Austria, there are many interesting cities and sites to see, some of them are listed here:
VIENNA is an exciting and vibrant city and there is much to see: marvellous and impressive castles and townhouses from the imperial time of Austria, a wide variety of museums and art collections, opera performances, street festivals, and great shopping facilities. Leisure facilities such as the famous Prater - a theme park - and the Zoo Schönbrunn offer recreation for everybody. More information on sightseeing and current events in Vienna at www.wien.info
GRAZ is the second largest city of Austria and compels through its laid-back and Mediterranean flair. The city features striking modern architecture such as the Kunsthaus Graz that perfectly blends into the charming old town, and a number of museums, art galleries and churches. A great place for a weekend-getaway in spring and summer is WÖRTHERSEE - often referred to as Austria's most beautiful lake. There are ample opportunities for outdoor activities and the cities Klagenfurt, Villach and Velden are popular among young people for their nightlife during the summer season. For picture galleries and more information go to www.woerthersee.com. From Bad Vöslau, it takes you approximately 3 hours by car to get to Wörthersee.
Furthermore, the bustling capital cities Praha, Bratislava, Prague and Budapest are an exciting weekend destination and can be reached easily by bus services and trains.
